Lunsetter, Maurice Jon (1960-2015)

Maurice Lunsetter, age 55, died Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Sanford Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Craig Bowyer Officiating. Burial will be held at Landstad Cemetery at Gatzke, MN.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Maurice Jon Lunsetter was born April 2, 1960 at Thief River Falls, MN son of Glenn and Grace (Peterson) Lunsetter. He was baptized and confirmed at United Lutheran Church in Gatzke. He attended grade school through 8th grade in Gatzke elementary and graduated from Grygla High School in 1978. After graduation he moved to Thief River Falls and worked at Arctic Cat in the fiberglass department for 10 years.

At the age of 28 he was diagnosed with a mental illness. He moved home and worked at ODC in Roseau for many years. He also lived in Badger and Grygla.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheeler, driving and walking. Maurice spent hours reading mechanics and science books and magazines. He enjoyed reading about history and especially liked the history channel.

His organs and tissue were given in donation to help others.

Maurice is survived by his mother Grace Lunsetter of Thief River Falls, MN, siblings Melanie Lunsetter of Thief River Falls, MN, Gene (Jacki) Lunsetter of Thief River Falls, MN, Gerry (fiancé Mardy Saban) Lunsetter of Gatzke, MN, Kenny (Carrie) Lunsetter of Gatzke, MN; nieces and nephews Michelle (Mark), Joel (Stephanie), Jenna (Shay), Carly, Gracie, Mollie, Michael, Katie, Chase, Awbree; aunt and uncle (godparents) Gloria and Marlyn Sistad of Grygla, MN along with many cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Glenn Lunsetter in 2009.
