Morgan McAnnany, 10, died Saturday, October 27, 2001 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, at Westaker Lutheran Church in Newfolden with Rev. Phil Rokke officiating. Orpha Schaff-hauser was the organist, and the soloist was Dion Larson. Rob Nelson was the guitar accompanist. A eulogy was presented by Morgan’s godmother, Diane Tiani. Casketbearers were Justin Tostrup, Steve Larson, Scott Larson, Kyle Tanner, Lorrin Leader and Darren Larson. Honorary casketbearers were Shane Stone and Josh Hendrickson. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery in rural Newfolden with Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls in charge of the arrangements.
Morgan Marie McAnnany was born on April 11, 1991 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Roger and Bobbie Jo (McAnnany) Garfve. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and attended school for four years in Viking and Newfolden.
She enjoyed reading, drawing and traveling, going to Montana, Washington and most recently, Disney World in Florida on a trip made possible by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Morgan is survived by her parents, Roger and Bobbi Jo of Newfolden; a sister, Feather Garfve, and a brother Harlan, both at home; her grandparents, Dennis McAnnany of Newfolden, Lenore Otto of Thief River Falls, Arlette and Laurel Majer of Greenbush and Harlan and Sigrid Garfve of Newfolden; great-grandparents, John and Marion Daigre of Halma; and several uncles, aunts and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Phillip and Isabell Stone and Robert McAnnany.
