Rheta Larson, 65, died Monday, Jauary 3, 2011, at Oakland Park Communities, Thief River Falls, MN. May her memory be blessed.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 7, 2011 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, MN, with Rev. Sheila Michaels officiating. Casket bearers included Lucas Larson, John Helgenset, Joe Holten, Brian Larson, Jeremy Larson, Dave Rux, James Larson and Mark Larson. Interment was held at Holt Cemetery, Holt, MN.
Rheta Helgenset was born August l, 1945 in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Arnold and Margaret Elaine (Hanson) Helgenset. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Rheta attended Knox Elementary School, graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964, and the Area Vocational Technical College in 1965.
On August 7, 1971, Rheta was united in marriage to Gordon David Larson at St. John Lutheran Church in Theif River Falls, MN. They made their home on the Larson family farm in Holt Township, and to this union two children were born, Lisa and Lucas. Throught the years while her children were growing. Rheta stayed home to raise them and care for them. Before raising her children, Rheta worked at Arctic Cat for several years. After her children had graduated from high school, Rheta then went to work for Tri Valley as a housekeeper assisting the elderly with their needs. This was a job Rheta found very rewarding.
Rheta enjoyed shopping, baking, walking, nature and her work. Her time spent raising her children was some of the happpiest times of her life. Rheta was a good wife and mon. She was a kind, considerate person and very good to her family and friends.
She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church of Holt and the Mary Circle.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon of Thie River Falls, MN; children, Lisa (Joe) Holten of Nampa, Idaho, and Lucas Larson of Robbinsdale, MN; grandchildren, Macy and Claire Holten; brothers, Wayne Helgenset of St. Hilaire, MN and John Helgenset of Thief River Falls, MN. Rheta is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
