Kuznia, Pelagia “Polly” (Kazmierczak) (1914-2008)

Polly Kuznia, 93, of Stephen, MN, passed away on Monday morning, Jan. 14, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN.

Polly (Pelagia) Kazmierczak was born on March 1, 1914 in Stephen, MN, the daughter of Mikoloi and Juliana (Borowicz) Kazmierczak. She was a life long resident of the Stephen – Florian, MN area. She attended country school by Florian. On Oct. 13, 1936, she was united in marriage to Peter P. Kuznia. They made their home and farmed by Florian until 1979 when they moved into Stephen. Peter died on Oct. 18, 1996.

She was a member of the Assumption Ladies and Florian P.N.A.

Polly loved to spend time in her flower and vegetable gardens and quilting. She also enjoyed baking and giving her baked goods to friends and neighbors.

Left to mourn her passing are three children, Eugene (Theresa) Kuznia of Stephen, MN, Suzanne (Ed) Husler of Boulder, CO and Petronella “Patty” Durand of Argyle, MN, nineteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Francine Kuznia, son-in-law, Daniel Durand, one sister, five brothers and three step brothers.
