Linda L. Larson, 89, of Holt, MN died on March 31, 2003 at the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 3, 2003, 2:00 PM at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, MN with Reverend David Pretty Officiating. Burial will be held in the Holt Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday 4 – 8 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at the Johnson Green Funeral Service in Thief River Falls and also one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Linda Linora Larson was born December 27, 1913 on the Family farm in Holt Township, Marshall County, MN daughter of the late George and Martha (Wartenberg) Gusa. She was baptized at her grandparent’s home and confirmed at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt. She attended Pioneer District #61 Country School in Holt Township. She worked on the Gusa Family Farm, and then became a maid in Newfolden and St. Paul, MN.
On April 24, 1946 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Larson at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt. The couple farmed near Holt where she lived until December of 2002 when she moved to CNC in Thief River Falls.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, music and serving in any way. She cherished the time spent gardening, raising strawberries, raspberries and flowers. Most of all, she loved the time spent with her grandchildren. Linda was an active member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid (Mary’s Circle) and served as Sunday School Superintendent.
She is survived by her two sons James (Carol) Larson of Holt Township, Marshall County, MN and Mark (Diane) Larson of Holt Township, Marshall County, MN. Four grandchildren Mary Kezar, Jennifer Larson, Rachel Larson and Allen Larson: three great-grandchildren Elizabeth Kezar, Nicholas Kezar and Justin Semling. Two brothers Raymond Gusa of Thief River Falls and James (Eunice) Gusa of Elk River, MN. Sister-in-law Dolly Larson of Thief River Falls, MN and Brother-in-law Oliver Backlund of Fairbanks, AK.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, parents George and Martha, son Paul, brother Ted Gusa and sister Edna Gusa.
