Knudson-Hanson, Claudia Carole (Walz Knudson) (1947-2015)

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Sat. at the Drayton, ND, Methodist Church with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will be after 6 P.M. Fri. at the Collins Funeral Chapel in Karlstad with a 8 P.M. prayer service and at the church one hour prior to services Sat. morning. Interment will be in the Zion Church Cemetery near Karlstad at 2 P.M. Sat. afternoon.

Claudia Carole Knudson-Hanson, was born on May 17, 1947, in Minot, ND. She attended school and grew to adulthood in Bowesmont, ND, and graduated from Drayton, ND, High School in 1965. On October 19, 1968, Claudia was united in marriage to Lewis Knudson in Polk Co., MN. and they made their home in Drayton, St. Thomas and Grafton, ND for several years. On Christmas Eve, 1995, she married Ted Hanson at Grafton and they have since made their home near Karlstad. She was adventurous, traveling often with Ted. Claudia was passionate about quilting and knitting. She loved the farm and being surrounded by her animals and gardening. She passed away peacefully while embraced in love, surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren on Monday evening, November 23, 2015, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND, at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 6 days.

She is survived by her husband, Ted; two sons: Jayson (Stacy) Knudson, of Fargo, ND, and Jeremy Knudson, of Stephen, MN; one step-son: Curtis Hanson, of Ardoch, ND; two daughters: Kimberly (Eric) Byre, of Stephen, and Kerry Matsusaka, of Wahiawa, HI; 17 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister: Connie (Lee) Becker, of Angle Inlet, MN and Surprise, AZ; in addition to several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ardella Walz.
