Alphonso “Al” Kasprowicz, 79, formerly of Warren and Argyle, MN, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in Valley Eldercare, Grand Forks, ND, surrounded by his family.
Alphonso Nicholas Kasprowicz was born on January 6, 1936, in Argyle, to James and Helen (Filipiak) Kasprowicz. He enlisted in the ND Army National Guard, 231st Engineers, in 1958. Following his honorable discharge, in 1959 he married Marilyn Franks. He worked in the Chevrolet garage and in 1964 opened Al’s Body Shop. He retired in 1987 but still worked at the Good Samaritan Center, Warren, where he was employee of the year, and also worked for area farmers.
He was proud member of the Warren American Legion for many years, was Grand Master of the parish KofC council, and was on the Warren Volunteer Ambulance Corps from 1970-1983.
Al is survived by three children, Donna Omdahl of East Grand Forks, MN, and Dwight Kasprowicz and Dean Kasprowicz, both of Warren; grandchildren, Ashley (Kris) Rainsberry, Nicholas, Eric (Tarryn) and Chelsey Omdahl, Brittany (Hugo), Dillon and Dakota Kasprowicz; and seven great-grandsons; siblings, Alex “Bob” (Margie) Kasprowicz of Argyle, Alvina (Delbert) Vonasek of East Grand Forks, Evelyn (Jim) Aylesworth of Bemidji, MN, and Doris (Rusty) Rost of West Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eddie Kasprowicz; two infant children, David and Diane; and daughter-in-law, Becky Kasprowicz.
