Ivan A. Johnson, 86, of Warren, MN, passed away on Friday morning, Nov. 14, 2008 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Ivan Arthur Johnson was born on May 15, 1922 in Argyle, MN, the son of Levi and Ellen Johnson. He was raised east of Argyle where he attended country school. Ivan graduated from Warren High School. He served in the US Army during Word War II and he was stationed in Panama. After his discharge, he returned to Warren. On June 16, 1948, he married Frances Vary at St. Stephen Church in Stephen, MN. They made their home in National City, CA where Ivan worked for Narmco Aircraft. In the early 1960’s, they moved to Warren where he worked for Diamond Furniture, Arctic and Radium Elevator. Ivan and Frances were also the custodians at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for many years.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Warren American Legion Post #27.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; four children, Linda (Richard) Gendron of Walhalla, ND; David (Sue) Johnson of Becker, MN; Delores (Randy) Jastram of Rosholt, SD and Janel (Chris) Jastram of Wheaton, MN, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and brother, Gene (Mary Ann) Johnson of Minneapolis, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Adolph, Elmer, Orvel and Ulric and sister, Selma Hagen.
