Kenneth R. Johnson, 74, Stephen, died Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks.
Kenneth Raymond Johnson was born Sept. 26, 1929 in Augsburg Township of Marshall County, the son of Ole and Gladys (Peterson) Johnson. He grew up and attended rural school in Augsburg Township and graduated from Northwest School of Agriculture at Crookston.
Kenneth served in the U. S. Army for two years and was stationed in Germany.
On Dec. 14, 1957 he married Nancy Sandbergen at First Lutheran Church at Stephen. They were engaged in farming in Augsburg Township and Kenneth was also employed by H & S Manufacturing of Stephen. He was a former member of St. Petri Lutheran Church and a member of First Lutheran Church, Stephen Lions Club, and Stephen American Legion Post #390. Kenneth enjoyed gardening, visiting family and friends, and following the Minnesota Vikings.
Family members include his wife Nancy, Stephen; daughters Jean (Tom) Hoxie Fergus Falls; Kristin Johnson, Inver Grove Heights; Susan (Brian) Vraa, Bemidji; grandchildren Kyle and Brianna Johnson, Randi and Raina Hozie, and Jordan and Carly Vraa, sisters Ingrid (Leonard “Stub”) Bazey, Stephen, Joyce Wicklund, Minneapolis; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Ed Wicklund.
