Delmar D. Johnson, 63, passed away unexpectedly at the Roseau Area Hospital in Roseau, MN on Thursday morning, March 13, 2003, at the age of 63 years, 9 months, and 6 days.
Delmar DeMar Johnson, the son of the late Alfred and Pauline (Wettestad) Johnson, was born on June 7, 1939, at Thief River Falls. He grew to manhood in Moose River Township of Marshall County, near Thief Lake, and attended the Northwest School of Agriculture at Crookston, MN. Delmar served with the U.S. Navy from 1957 until 1961. and following discharge, was employed by Lockheed Aircraft in California for several years. He returned to his grandfather’s farm in Thief Lake Township, and was employed at both Polaris Industries and Arctic Enterprises. On June 16, 1972, Delmar was united in marriage to Carolyn Hoff at Middle River, and they have since made their home on the farm in Thief Lake Township.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; three daughters, Melissa, Mrs. Carlo Didericksen of Ephraim, UT, Kristen of Roseville, MN and Joanna of Fargo; two grandchildren, Jason and Rachel; two brothers, Lyle (Olive) of Wood Lake, MN, and Greg (Ina) of Las Vegar, NV; three sisters, Allene Halligan of Ontario, OR, Judy, Mrs. Tim Hurst of Roseau, MN and Alverda, Mrs. Duane Leddige of Badger, MN; in addition to several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Delmar was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister and one brother in infancy.
