Juanita Hutchinson, 60, died Saturday, September 27, 1997, at her home in rural Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 3 at St. Pauli Lutheran Church, rural Thief River Falls with Reverend Terri Skildum officiating. Deb Holmgren will be the organist. Casketbearers will be Jamey Brandon, Tony Brandon, Michael Brandon, Cody Brandon, Andrew Anderson, D.J. Anderson, Adam Anderson and Austin Hutchinson. Burial will be in the German Evangelical Cemetery, Cedar township, Marshall County. The Green Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be at the Green Funeral Home on Thursday from 1 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 8 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to services.
Juanita Marie Burrell was born on June 2, 1937, in Cedar township, Marshall County, the daughter of Carl and Adeline (Wagner) Burtell. She was baptized in the Christian faith and later confirmed that faith in May of 1952 at the First Lutheran Church of Middle River. She attended school in Middle River, graduating from high school there in 1955. She lived and worked in Ft. Riley, Kansas, and Hartford, Wisconsin, before moving back to Middle River in 1965.
Juanita was united in marriage to Merton Hutchinson at Sisseton, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls. Juanita worked at several places including Inga’s Cafe, as bookkeeper at the sale’s barn and at Danny’s Eastside Grocery. For the past years, she has helped her husband with the operation of their family trucking business.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, country music, bingo, observing wildlife and involving her family in her interests. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Eagle’s Auxiliary.
Juanita is survived by her husband, Merton; her parents, Carl and Adeline Burrell of Thief River Falls; four children, Paul (Janelle) Hutchinson of Thief River Falls, Cindy (Scott) Brandon and Michele (Edward) Jesme, all of Middle River, and Bonita (Daniel) Anderson of Karlstad; fourteen grandchildren; two brothers, Conrad (Jean) Burrell of Middle River and Ronald (Beverly) Burrell of Salem, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Joan Burrell; her grandparents; and recently three uncles, Patrick and Albert McCollough and Emmett Wagner
