Donald C. Horien , 65, Holt, died Monday, Sept. 19, 1988, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Fargo.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Nazareth Lutheran Church, Holt. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with an 8 p.m. prayer service in Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.
Donald C. Horien was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Holt, the son of Leo and Ida Horien . He attended schools there, served with the U.S. Army in World War II and earned several medals, including the Good Conduct Medal Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star and Purple Heart. After the service, he was a farm laborer near Holt and worked for Arctic Enterprises in Thief River Falls. He had lived at Valley Home, Thief River Falls, since 1982.
Survivors are his sister, Lucille (Mrs. Lawrence) Hams, International Falls, Minn., Bonita (Mrs. Gary) Peterson, Middle River, Minn., Norma (Mrs. Clifford) Dahle and Mary (Mrs. Jim) Swan, both of Holt; brothers, Howard, Seattle, Jerome, Venice, Fla., Robert, Thief River Falls, Leon, White Bear Lake, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Lincoln, Richard and Roger.
