Funeral services for Hans Brosdahl, 78, resident of the rural Warren area for 70 years were held Thursday, October 15, 1959 at 2 PM at Alma Lutheran Church with Rev. Eldor Oscarson officiating. Mr. Brosdahl died Monday, October 12 at Warren Hospital after suffering from a heart condition for about 1 and 1/2 years.
Born in Norway on June 26, 1881 to Mr. and Mrs. Knute Brosdahl, Hans came to the United States and the Warren community in 1889 at the age of eight years. He attended rural schools and worked on the Soo and Great Northern Railroad about 30 years. Since then, he farmed northeast of Warren in Alma Township. He married Edna Berg at Warren on March 19, 1921. He was a member of the Alma Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Edna, a son, Dale of Warren, two daughters, Mrs. Eunice (Lloyd) Cole of Argyle and Mrs. Jeanne (Maurice) Knutson of Oslo, a brother, Halvor Brosdahl of Halma. and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth.
Active Pallbearers were Neil Kruger, Lowell Hogberg, Joel Bjorgaard, Earl Jorgenson, Marville Magnusson and George Johnson. Honorary bearers were Jens Hunstad, Ned Hunstad, Carl Bjorgaard, Henry Bjorgaard, Willie Wallin and Elling Jorgenson. Arthur Jorgenson and Arthur Hogberg were vocalists with Mrs. Ned Hunstad as organist. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
Friends and relatives attended the funeral from Halma, Newfolden, Thief River Falls, Viking, Gonvick, Oslo, Bemidji, Kennedy, Minneapolis, Hallock and Strandquist.
