Zacharias, Eleanor Alice (Lunsetter) (1926-2003)

Eleanore Zacharias, 77, died on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, ND, after a short illness.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 15, 2003 at United Lutheran Church in Gatzke, MN with Reverend Sandra Hollands officiating.

Eleanore Alice Zacharias was born on January 6, 1926 in Grygla, MN, the daughter of Norman and Gilma (Lian) Lunsetter. She grew up on the family farm at Gatzke, MN. She attended the local, one room country school and was baptized and confirmed at the Landstad Lutheran Church. Eleanore graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in 1943. Following school she went to Minneapolis and worked for the “Downtown Daytons”.

On January 19, 1946 she was united in marriage to Eugene Zacharias from Gaylord, MN. He served in World War II. The couple made their home in Minneapolis and Crystal, MN. Eleanore worked for some years at the Target Store in Crystal and later she worked at the Hospital in Aitkin, MN. When Eugene passed away in 1990, she returned to the Minneapolis area. She volunteered at North Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis. In 2000 she moved back to Thief River Falls to be near her family.

Eleanore loved people, had a friendly personality and had many friends. She enjoyed and loved her Pastor Sandy. She will be dearly missed by many.

Eleanore is survived by one son, Robert of Clitherall, MN; one grandson, Robert, Jr. of Brooklyn Center, MN; one brother, Glenn (Grace) Lunsetter of Gatzke, MN; one sister, Gloria (Marlyn) Sistad of Grygla, MN; one uncle, Walter Lunsetter of Gatzke, MN; two step sisters: Arlene Brateng of Grygla, MN and Marilyn (Kenny) Wiseth of Goodridge, MN; two step brothers: Gordon (Patty) Anderson of Pine Island, MN and Larry Anderson of Minneapolis, MN; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; and her parents, Norman and Gilma Lunsetter Anderson; her step father, Alton Anderson and two step brothers: Arvid and Jack Anderson.
