Betty Ingalls, 80, of Winona died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at Winona Health.
Betty Ruth Ingalls was born Oct. 10, 1931, to Leroy and Annie (Magnuson) Ingalls. She grew up in Middle River, Minn., and graduated from high school there in 1949. Betty graduated from Bemidji State University in 1953, and attended the University of Minnesota for further studies. She completed her master’s of education at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks in 1972.
She was married to Jeff David Goss, who died just two years after they were wed.
Betty taught elementary school for many years. Seventeen years of her teaching career were spent in Alaska. She also taught for 10 years in Minnesota. Betty had a home-based business.
She is survived by her sisters, Cora Ravndalen of Roosevelt, Minn., Gladys Blakstedt of Maple Grove, Minn., and Ellen Erickson of Warren, Minn.; several nieces and nephews; other extended family and many friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Edith Blahauvietz and Mae Tunheim; brothers, William Ingalls, Arsa Ingalls, and Clarence Ingalls; as well as three sisters who died in infancy.
Funeral service will take place Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel at Saint Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona, with the Rev. Joe McConkey officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Woodman’s Cemetery in Middle River.
Services are entrusted to Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Winona.
