Opdahl cemetery, north of Newfolden on 140th, is relatively new. Which really means it does not appear on the oldest maps I have available. More honestly, I can find almost no online source about the Opdahl cemetery.

Oh, there are a few thingsā€¦ (a very spammy ad site) tells me there are 23 cemeteries within 10 miles of Opdahl, all within Marshall county. Google maps tells me its address falls within Nofolden’s 56738 zipcode. But there is not much else.

Opdahl is a community cemetery, which means it is not a religious one, which means a non-christian may be buried there. Did you know that is actually somewhat rare in Marshall county? I have not done the statistics, but I would guess more than 80% of grave plots in the county have some religious test to them. Only two others spring to mind: Greenwood cemetery in Warren, and Viking cemetery near Viking.
