Andeen, Myrtle Edeline (Engen) (1912-2007)

Myrtle Andeen, 94, of Breckenridge, MN, died May 17, 2007 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge.

Her funeral will be Monday, May 21, 2007 at 1:30 PM at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, with Pastor Mark Manning officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 20, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Interment will be Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN.

Myrtle is survived by: Her son and daughter-in-law: Lloyd and Judy Andeen, Breckenridge, MN, and their 4 children: Cindi (Mike) Abel, Greg (Patty) Andeen, Jeff (Cyndie) Andeen, Corey (Julie) Andeen; Her daughter: Lois Andeen, Breckenridge, MN; Her 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; Her brother: Ronald Engen, Thief River Falls, MN; Her sister: Audrey Freshwater, Clovis, California

She was preceded in death by: Her husband: Kenneth H. Andeen; Her parents: William and Caroline Engen; Her 7 brothers and sisters

Myrtle was born October 4, 1912, in Warren, MN, the daughter of William P. and Caroline (Grund) Engen. She grew up near Warren and attended area schools in Marshall County, near Warren. On October 6, 1934, Myrtle was married to Kenneth H. Andeen in Marshall County. They made their home in rural Argyle, MN. In 1958, Myrtle attended nursing school in Thief River Falls, MN. She then worked as a nurse for 14 years at Emmaus Nursing Home in Warren. Kenneth died July 6, 1979, and Myrtle continued living in Warren until 1996, when she moved to Breckenridge to be close to her family.

Myrtle was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church and LCW in Warren, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Northwest Senior Federation, and was past president of the Warren Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, riding horses, and was a student of the Bible.
