Anderson, Dwight Milton (1955-2009)

Dwight Milton Anderson, 53, of McCrea Township, Warren, MN passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2009.

Dwight was born on July 17, 1955 to Milton and Ruth (Johnson) Anderson of rural Warren. He was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church of Warren. He was a McCrea 4-H member and a Minnesota State 4-H Ambassador in his youth. He was on the wrestling team throughout school and graduated from Warren High School with the Class of 1973.

He married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia Rehder on November 24, 1973. He attended the University of Minnesota – Crookston. He continued the family tradition of farming with his father Milton, brother Paul and in recent years, his son Jacob.

In addition to his farming interests, Dwight was a community leader. He was a dedicated member of the Warren School Board, the Marshall County Fair Board, and the McCrea Township board. He also volunteered as a youth wrestling coach with the Warren Jaycees for many years.

After the harvest was finished each year, he enjoyed hunting deer with family and friends. His hunting adventures included a moose hunt as well.

Dwight and Cindy were given the Outstanding Young Farmer award in 1989 and the Farm Family of the Year award in 1998.

Dwight loved vintage cars, especially his 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible. He also owned a 1970 Grand Prix. He loved snowmobiling, especially the Minnesota Association of Wheat Grower trips to Lake of the Woods. Dwight enjoyed traveling, meeting new and old friends, sharing news, and keeping in touch with everyone.

Dwight is survived by the love of his life Cindy, his three children, Jesse Omdahl of Audubon, MN, Trista (Jeffrey) Lund of Thief River Falls, MN, Jacob (Ashley) Anderson, of McCrea Township, Warren, MN, thirteen Grandchildren: Isabel, Danny, Christian, Gaige, Charlie, Lynsey, and Reese Omdahl; Emmaleah and Nicholas Lund; Morgan, Gracie, Wyatt, and Trig Anderson. Dwight also will be missed by German exchange daughter Renate Rabensdorf. Dwight will be remembered by his Mother-in-law Bernice Rehder, sister-in-law Helen Anderson, in-laws Renee and Ed Rosendahl, John and Diane Rehder, Adele and Bill Carboni and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton & Ruth Anderson, Brothers Hal and Paul, sister Mona Rae Lewis, and father-in-law Victor Rehder.
