Lowell Anderson (L.J.) of Baudette, MN passed away peacefully on December 26, 2010 at the Lakewood Health Center surrounded by family.
Lowell John Anderson was born on April 5, 1940 to Lawrence A. T. and Hazel (Johnson) Anderson in Warren, MN. He was graduated from Warren High School in 1958, joined the US Army, was stationed in France and was honorably discharged in 1961. That same year he married Rona Cook in Warren, where they made their home.
L.J. was employed by PKM Electrical Co-op before founding, owning and operating a successful underground electrical cable plowing business, LJ Anderson Enterprises Inc. and Warren Cable TV until 1987. He served on the Warren Fire Department, rising to the rank of Chief, was a member of the Marshall County Watershed Board of Directors and a member of First Lutheran Church in Warren where he served on the Church council. L.J. and Rona’ relocated to Baudette, MN where he and Rona’ enjoyed the company of many family and friends over the years. L.J. was employed in law enforcement, was an active board member of Northstar Electric Co-op, a member of the local Moose Lodge, and a member of the American Legion where he served as the Honor Guard Squad Leader. He was very patriotic.
He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and flying, but most of all he found great joy and satisfaction in helping others.
L.J. is survived by his wife Rona’, three children, Mitchell & Becky (Rynestad) Anderson of Alexandria, MN, Susan Anderson & Tim Hochsprung of Alexandria, MN and Emily Paul of Granger, IN, eight grandchildren, Alek, Grant, Brock, Cameron, Josephine, Logan, Levi and Peyton, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dellene Lattimer.
A memorial service for Lowell “L.J.” Anderson of Baudette will be held at the First Lutheran Church in Baudette on Wednesday, December 29 at 3:00 p.m. A memorial visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Military Honors will be provided by the Baudette Veteran Ceremonial squad. A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Greenwood Cemetery in Warren, MN where L.J. will be interred.
