William “ Bud” Anderson, 93, of Warren, MN, passed away on Tuesday evening, March 18, 2014 at North Valley Health Center in Warren.
William Edward Anderson was born on February 18, 1921 in Warren, the son of Carl E. and Ceciel W. (Yuergens) Anderson. He was a life long resident of Warren where he graduated from Warren High School in 1940. On May 12, 1946, he married Arlyce E. Hansen. They made their home on a farm north of Warren until 1967 when they moved into Warren. He farmed on the Anderson homestead for many years. His other places of employment included Arctic Cat Industries, Nelson Motors and Farm, and for Jay Backstrom farming.
Bud was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church serving as treasurer and on the council for many years. Being active in the Senior Citizen group he served as treasurer and chauffeured seniors, many younger than himself, around town. In 2001 he was named Marshall Country Outstanding Senior Citizen and was honored at the Minnesota State Fair. Bud served as clerk of Warrenton township and was actively involved with the Boxville 4-H club. Giving was his way of life whether it was volunteering at the DAC, where he had some very special friends, calling BINGO, driving others to needed appointments or helping wherever there was a need.
Bud’s greatest loves were his family and his Lord. Along with all his accomplishments he will be remembered for singing “Happy Birthday” to his children and grandchildren throughout his 93 years.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Arlyce; seven children, Bruce (Debbie) Anderson of Whitethorn, CA, Barbara (Jerry) Jorgenson of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Marijo (Dennis) Nabben of Thief River Falls, MN,Brad (Donna) Anderson of Glendale, AZ, Nancy (Russ) Erickson of Grand Forks, ND, Brian (Becky) Anderson of Cambridge, MN and Heide (Bill) Sabol of Farmington, MN; fifteen grandchildren: Brent, Ginger, Erin, Jason, Kristen, Jeremy, Jasmine, Patrick, Kelsey, Brady, Alexis, Jeffrey, Kyle, MaKena and Keisen; five great-grandchildren: Jacob, Andrew, Wesley, Isaac and William; siblings: Grace Gurry of Minneapolis, MN, Shirley Roley of Warren, MN and Carl Anderson of Stanchfield, MN and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Colleen Anderson and Ione Steer.
