Donald Barnes, 64, of rural Warren, MN, passed away on Thursday evening, December 27, 2007 at the North Valley Health Center in Warren.
Donald Robert Barnes was born on April 8, 1943 in Milaca, MN, the son of William and Anna (Smallwood) Barnes. He spent his early years in the Milaca area where he attended school. On August 17, 1963, he was united in marriage to Arleen Ruth Fagerstrom in Warren. They made their home in Minneapolis, MN and Braham, MN until moving to rural Warren in 2004. Donald farmed and was a custodian at a nursing home until they moved to Warren.
He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Donald enjoyed volunteering at RVIS.
Don accepted Christ as his personal Savior as a young lad, and was an active member of the Maple Ridge Evangelical Free Church when living in Braham. He attended the Evangelical Covenant Church after moving to the Warren area.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Arleen, two children, Sandra (Dan) Nelson of Hinckley, MN and Michael Barnes of Cambridge, MN; four grandchildren, Dustin Nelson and Courtney, Kyle and Brayden Barnes; two sisters, Doris Barnes of Cambridge, MN and Leila Savanich of Braham, MN; two brothers, Ralph Barnes of Minneapolis, MN and Melvin (Annette) Barnes of Springfield, OR and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marian Barnes.
