Berglund, Blanche Millicent (Westman) (1910-1999)

Funeral services for Blanche Berglund, 88, were held Friday in the Evangelical Covenant Church with Rev. Brian Schanil officiating. She died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, in the Good Samaritan Center at Warren.

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery at Warren. Bearers were :RogerĀ  Bjerk, Bob Elseth, John Peterson and Duane Nielsen. Rachel Peterson was the organist and Douglas Gloude the soloist. Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Blanche Millicent Westman was born April 16, 1910, in Foldahl Township, Marshall County, the daughter of Ole and Hilma (Skoglund) Westman. She graduated from high school and also completed teachers training, after which she taught school for two years. On June 7, 1944, she was married to Arthur Berglund. They made their home in Warren, where she worked at the Marshall County auditor’s office for over 30 years. She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, where she taught Sunday School.

Survivors include: one niece and her husband, Joyce and Roger Bjerk of Edelstein, IL, three great-nieces and two great-nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, on Nov. 25, 1993, and two sisters, Alice M. Westman and Evelyn D. Andeen.
