Obituary

Mrs. Hannah Bliss, wife of David C.
Bliss, died at her home in Minneapolis,
Minn., Feb. 20th, 1920, at the age of 42
years, 5 months and 13 days. Cause of
death was Bright’s disease.

Mrs. Bliss was born at Upsala,
Sweden, Sept. 7, 1877, and came to this
country with her parents in 1882. She
was married to Mr. Bliss at Grand
Forks, N.D., in 1899. To this union
were born four children, two girls,
Pearl, age 19, and Eva, age 12; and two
boys, Harry, age 17, and Walter, age 15.
She is also survived by one sister, Mrs.
Ole Peterson of Watson, Sask., and
two brothers, C. O. Olson and John E
Olson of Alvarado, Minn.

Mrs. Bliss had for a number of years
been a devoted member of the Salvation
Army, and lived a true Christian life.
Although a sufferer for years from her
disease, she bore it patiently and has
now entered the eternal rest. She died
firm in the faith of her Lord and Re-
deemer.

The funeral was held from the Swed-
ish Lutheran Church in Alvarado, on
Feb. 24th, and was conducted by Rev.
Albin Larson, of Thief River Falls.
Many friends were present to show
their respect and esteem for the de-
parted. The floral offerings were beau-
tiful.

“Then fell upon the house a sudden
gloom.
A shade of those features fair and thin;
And softly from that hushed and darkened
room
Two angels issued where but one went
in.”
