Ruth Cooper was born April 15, 1889 to Henry and Sarah Cooper. She attended school in Ray, Illinois and in 1915 moved to Warren, MN. From 1916 – 1918 she lived at Auburn, ND and from 1918-1934 she lived in the Cavalier, ND area. In 1934 she moved to Karlstad and since 1946 has made her home in the Halma area.
She was united in marriage on April 15, 1907 to John Gorsuch at Ray, IL. He died December 23, 1918. On January 23, 1923 she married Steven Prindle at Cavalier, ND. He died February 12, 1939. On June 2, 1946 she was married to Halvor Brosdahl at Hallock, who died June 24, 1969.
Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Erma Such, Hallock, and Alvina, Mrs. Julius Haugen, Inkster, ND.; two sons: William Gorsuch, Karlstad and John Gorsuch, Portland, OR; several step-children; 23 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, first, second and third husbands, one brother, and five grandchildren.
