Jemima Johnston Edgar, was born in Ecclefechan, Dumfrieshire, Scotland on Monday, November 5, 1849. She was married to Thomas Edgar, Friday, January 21, 1876 in Ecclefechan, Scotland. Ten children were born to this union, six of whom are living. They came to Warren, Minnesota in 1882 and have since resided in this city and on their farm home in Brislet Township. Thomas Edgar died Thursday, December 19, 1895.
All of her children were present at the time of her death. They are Mrs. Janet (Henry M.) Clark of Bemidji, Minnesota, Mrs. Mary (F. B. Frank) Robinson, of Highlanding, Minnesota, Mrs. Agnes (Hugh) Boyd, John, Irving, and Thomas Edgar of Warren. There are also living seventeen of her grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two sisters, one in Scotland, and one in Kansas City, Missouri, also survive her.
Mrs. Edgar was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church holding membership in the Warren Church of that denomination until the time of its disbanding. She was a good, kind, and loving wife and mother, a true friend, and her memory will live long in the hearts of all who learned to know her in life. She died Saturday morning, February 3, 1923 at the ripe age of 73 years, 2 months, and 28 days. She was buried Monday, February 5, 1923 at 2:00 PM from the First M.E. Church of this city.
