Forsberg, Darlene (1927-2005)

Darlene Forsberg, 78, died on Monday, May 30, 2005 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, MN, surrounded by her family, after battling cancer for three years.

Darlene Forsberg was born on April 5, 1927 in Viking, MN, the daughter of William and Minnie (Gustafson) Forsberg. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Viking. Darlene attended Ridgeview Country School through 8th Grade. She also attended and graduated from Newfolden High School in 1945.

Darlene worked for about 35 years as bookkeeper at Ben Franklin Store and later at Ace Hardware for 20 years, both in Thief River Falls.

She enjoyed crocheting and other handiwork and loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Darlene is survived by two sisters: her twin sister, Delores Forsberg of Thief River Falls, MN and Barbara (Dennis) Nelson of Minneapolis, MN; one brother, Winton (Claudette) Forsberg of Thief River Falls, MN; sister-in-law, Betty Forsberg of Van Nuys, CA; nieces and nephews: Julie Nelson, Karen (Mike) Hodges, Mark (Cindy) Forsberg, Randy (Kristen) Nelson, Kenneth Forsberg, Renae Nelson and Jodi (Brett) Carter; and several grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Minnie Forsberg; and two brothers: Arnold, in infancy and Arland.
