Funeral services for Ole Garfve, 80, longtime Newfolden resident, were held Friday, August 8, at Evangelical Covenant Church in Newfolden with Rev. Earl Eveland officiating. He died the preceding Wednesday at Bagley Hospital.
Interment was made in Folden Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lawrence Tobiason, Eddie Qually, Palmer Nelson, Richard Larson, Stanley Holmaas and Hjalmer Lee.
Mr. Garfve was born Dec. 31, 1888 at Solor, Norway, the son of Isak and Johanna Garfve. When he was 2 he came to this country with his parents, settling in Newfolden Township where he attended school and lived. He never married.
Survivors include one brother, Wille Garfve of Newfolden; three sisters, Mrs. W.E. (Inga)Rux of Thief River Falls, Mrs. Leonard (Olivia) Olson of Devils Lake, ND, and Mrs. Reber (Emma) Daily of Detroit Lakes. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
