Grahn, Denal LeRoy (1957-2009)

Denal Grahn, 51, died Monday, May 18, 2009 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Denal LeRoy Grahn was born June 21, 1957 in Karlstad, MN, the son of Gordon and Adeline Grahn. He was baptized and confirmed at Lake Bronson Community Covenant Church. He attended school in Lake Bronson and graduated in 1975 from Karlstad High School. He then attended Thief River Falls Area Vocational Technical Institute, graduating in 1977 in the field of electronics. Denal opened a TV repair shop in Lake Bronson, MN and was a volunteer fireman and also drove bus for Karlstad school district.

In 1979, he moved to Thief River Falls to work for Marcraft Inc. and Electronics Plus. In 1988, he and Paul Odette purchased Electronics Plus and in 2002, he sold his share to Paul and started working for Digi Key from 2002 until 2008, when he was forced to retire because of illness.

On July 25, 1981, Denal was united in marriage to Lynn Renstrom at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Strandquist, MN.

Denal was a member of Thief River Falls Elks and Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at deer hunting camp, as well as fishing. He loved his children and was always supportive of their extra curricular activities. Denal always had time for humor and enjoyed a good joke. His generous and supportive nature will always be remembered.

He is survived by wife, Lynn, Thief River Falls, MN; children: Brent (Yvonne) Grahn, Hopkins, MN and Kayla Grahn, St. Cloud, MN; mother, Adeline Grahn, Lake Bronson, MN; sister, Lynette (Mike) Taylor, Deerwood, MN; cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Denal was preceded in death by his father; maternal and paternal grandparents; father-in-law, Daniel and brother-in-law, Daniel Jr.
