Funeral services for Even Hansen, 72, a life-time resident of the Newfolden community who died Friday at Northwestern hospital, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran church at Newfolden. The Rev. Loren Nielson officiated. Lester Elseth served as soloist and Sheila Elseth as organist.
Pallbearers were Ingvard Lokstad, Anton Anderson, Einar Folden, Adolph Bakke, David Anderson and Ingvald Saugen. Funeral arrangements were by the Green Funeral home and interment was made in the Folden cemetery.
Even Hansen, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Hansen, was born Oct. 14, 1893 in Newfolden where he received his education and grew to manhood. A veteran of World War I, he served both in the United States and overseas. On June 26, 1923, he was united in marriage to Emma Svensen at Warren. Following their marriage, the couple made their home east of Newfolden where they were engaged in farming and where they have since resided.
He is survived by his wife, Emma; one son, Morris Hansen of Newfolden; three daughters, Ardelle of Newfolden, Mrs. Roberg (Ivedelle) Kohl, Grand Forks, N.D., and Mrs. Henry (Irene) Ford of Ukiah, Calif.
Also four brothers, Severin Hansen, Marion, Ind.; Hans of Winifred, Mont.; Bernt of Miles City, Mont.; and Gustave of Grandview, Wash.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mathilda Faxe, Grandview, Wash.; and Mrs. Karl (Mina) Petterson of San Francisco, Calif.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
