Services for Edwin Hanson, 78, were held Thursday from Evangelical Free Church at Newfolden with Rev. Earl Eveland officiating. A lifetime Newfolden resident, Mr. Hanson died at his home the previous Saturday.
Bearers were Morris Hanson, Norman Folden, Harold Folden, John Ness, John Swenson and George Moberg. Mrs. Merle Bjornrud was the organist and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Folden sang two duets.
Mr. Hanson, son of the late Halfdan and Milla Hanson, was born Dec. 24, 1892 in Holt Township, Marshall County, where he attended school and grew to manhood. On Nov. 22, 1927 he married at Warren to Mabel Folden. The couple lived and farmed in Holt Township until 1968 when they moved into Newfolden.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Ronald Hanson of Thief River Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Howard (Donna) Peterson of Euclid; three grandchildren; a brother, Hjalmer Hanson of Ketchikan, Alaska; one sister, Mrs. Anna Gaveri of Miami, Fla. He was preceded in death by one son, Omer, and three sisters.
