Funeral services for Harold Hanson, 61, of Newfolden were held Monday at 3 p.m. at the Evangelical Free church in Newfolden. A lifetime resident of the Newfolden community, Hanson died Friday at the Karistad Community hospital.
Rev. Earl Eveland officiated at the services. Music was provided by Mrs. Gloria Lee, organist, and Lester Elseth, who served as soloist. Interment was in the Folden cemetery with the Green Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Magnus Baldke, Leslie Folden, Oliver Grondahl, Morris Hanson, Francis Johnson and Alf Movick.
Harold Hanson was born June 27, 1913 in Holt township, Marshall county, to Andreas and Johanna Hanson. He attended school and grew to manhood in that community. On April 3, 1940, he was married at Turlock, Calif., to Olga Swanson. Since that time, he had farmed the old homestead, except for a very brief period when he was employed by Boeing Aircraft company at Seattle, Wash.
Hanson was active in the affairs of the community. He served for 15 years as a member of the Newfolden Coop Elevator board and during that time was president for four years and secretary for six.
Surviving are his wife, two sons: Dennie E. Hanson of Burnsville and Wesley of Grand Forks, N.D.; two grandchildren and two sisters; Mrs. Bertha Folden of Newfolden and Mrs. Myrtle Sailors of Devils Lake, N.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
