Mabel Hanson, 92, Newfolden, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 1997, in Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Mabel Christine Folden was born March 17, 1904, the daughter of Theodore and Ammalia (Berg) Folden, in Holt, Minn. She attended school in Holt Township, Marshall County, Minn. She joined the Salvation Army in Grand Forks and worked at United Hospital. She married Edwin Hanson Nov. 22, 1927. They farmed in Holt Township until 1968, when they moved to Newfolden. Edwin Hanson died May 22, 1971. She continued to live in Newfolden.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna (Howard) Peterson, Newfolden; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward, Detroit Lakes, Minn.; and a sister, Alma Johnson, Waterford, Conn.
She was preceded in death by sons, Omer and Ron; brothers, Bergman, Hilmer, Arnold, Johnnie, Arvid and Laurence; and sisters, Jennie and Dorris.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Evangelical Free Lutheran Church, Newfolden.
Visitation: Noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, in Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Folden Cemetery, Newfolden.
