Maynard Hillman, 80, of Warren, MN, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at the North Valley Health Center in Warren, MN.
J. Maynard Hillman was born on May 30, 1929 in Vega Township, Marshall County, MN, the son of Aaron and Elizabeth (Johnson) Hillman. He was raised in Vega Township where he attended country school. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. On June 17, 1956, Maynard married Joyce Lodoen. They made their home in Warren. Maynard worked for the telephone company in Warren with the last twenty-five years as plant supervisor. He worked for Marshall County Telephone Co., Lakes State Telephone Co., Continental Telephone Co. and Contel before retiring in 1989. Joyce died on November 6, 1982.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Warren American Legion Post #27 and the Lions. Maynard also served on the Warren City Council.
Maynard loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce and two brothers, Paul and Harold.
Left to mourn his passing are his two sons, Brad and wife, Karen Hillman of East Grand Forks, MN and Jason Hillman and fiancAC.e Kristi Smidt of Warren, MN; three granddaughters, Hannah, Alyssa and Brynn Hillman; brother, Walter (Eileen) Hillman of Warren, MN; sister-in-law, Bonnie Heberlein of Greeley, CO and six nieces and nephews.
