June Arlette Hjelle was born June 4, 1935 in Newfolden, MN, the daughter of Oscar Emil and Selma M. (Strand) Hjelle. She was baptized at Westaker Lutheran Church, Newfolden, MN and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Viking, MN. June attended school in Newfolden, graduating from Newfolden High School in 1953. After graduation, she made her home in Viking, MN. She was employed many years in office related work in Thief River Falls, MN.
June suffered a severe stroke in March 1990. Due to the effects of her stroke, June entered CNC Nursing Home in July 1999, where she lived until her death.
June will be remembered for her kind and likeable manner. She always had a smile and hand wave for everyone. She enjoyed the out of doors and going for walks.
Survived by one brother, Virgil (Marville) Hjelle, Viking, MN; four sisters: Maxine Prickett, Vernace Stokke, Mae Hjelle and Ardelle Hjelle, all Thief River Falls, MN; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great great nephews; special friend and roommate at CNC, Eunice Efteland and many other friends.
Preceded in death by parents, sister, Amy Hjelle, brothers, Orville and Roger, and brothers-in-law, Robert Prickett and Percey Stokke.
