Doris Johnston, 81, of Warren, MN, passed away on Thursday evening, August 30, 2007 at the Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.
Doris Stroble was born on March 22, 1926 in Warren, the daughter of James and Lottie (Hummer) Stroble. She was a life long resident of the Warren community where she attended school. On November 22, 1963, she married Chester Johnston in Thief River Falls. They made their home in rural Warren where they farmed. She was a cook and waitress at Katy’s Kitchen in Warren. Chester died on December 26, 1986.
She was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Doris was also a member of McCrea Homemakers.
Left to mourn her passing is her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Brenda Johnson of San Antonio, TX, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two sisters, Marjorie Vanek of Warren, MN and Olive Moyer of Roosevelt, MN and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Chester, two sisters and five brothers.
