Lorraine Karr, 91, of Warren, MN, passed away on Sunday morning, November 23, 2014 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Lorraine Maurstad was born on January 17, 1923, in Drayton, ND, to Ole and Olga (Andeen) Maurstad. She attended country school and lived in Argyle (MN) and Warren. On May 8, 1943, Lorraine was united in marriage to Wilfrid Karr, in Grace Methodist Church, Warren.
Lorraine was active in both her church and community, volunteering with the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to bake, cook, garden, and go dancing. Her greatest gift was her ability to bake; as everyone knew from her blue ribbons at the fair and for her sour cream raisin pie.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Richard (Bev) Karr of Warren, Judy (Bill) Hagen of Warroad, and Alvin Karr of Warren; grandchildren, Missy (Steve) Tedford, Bill Jr. (Michelle) Hagen, and Lori (Ron) Minard; great-grandchildren, Taylor Tedford, Camryn Hagen, and Tyler, Jared, and Jacob Minard; siblings, Arvin Maurstad of Warren, Jean Wendel and Anna Mae Nelson both of East Grand Forks, MN, Shirley Cordts of Grand Forks, Alice Grochowski of St. Paul, MN and Arnold (Iris) Maurstad of Argyle, and sister-in-laws, Jean Maurstad of Argyle, and Olive Maurstad of Moorhead, MN.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilfrid; brothers, Milford, Peter, Maurice, Myron and Leslie; and several nephews.
