FINAL RITES HELD SATURDAY
AFTERNOON FOR J. KLUNGNESS
Funeral services for Jacob Klungness, 78, were held Saturday afternoon at the Gulbranson Mortuary, the Rev. V. G. Sorenson officiating. Mr. Klungness, resident of rural Thief River Falls, passed away May 10 at a local hospital. Burial was made in the Silver Creek cemetery in Marshall county.
Born January 1, 1872 in Norway, he moved to Minneapolis in 1893 where he was employed two years, then coming to Thief River Falls. In 1897 he was married to Mrs. Marie Thorwick, who preceded him in death. He resided on a farm in Adger township until a year ago, since residing at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin J. Russell. He was a member of the Silver Creek Lutheran church, and served several years on the Excel school board.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Irvin J. Russell and Mrs. Knute Knutson of rural Thief River Falls; a stepson, Arthur Thorwick of Minneapolis; a brother Albert Klungness of rural Thief River falls; and a sister, Mrs. Gust Jorgenson of Seattle, Wash.; and seven grandchildren.
