David Kringsberg, 85, died Monday, December 30, 2002 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, January 3, 2003 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls, MN, with Reverend Jim Howard, officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN.
Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a prayer service held at 7:00 PM at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls and on Friday one hour prior to the service.
David Henry Kringsberg was born August 5, 1917 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Carl and Othilia Kringsberg. He grew up in Thief River Falls and graduated in the class of 1935 at Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls. He moved to Fargo, ND for 2 years and later moved to Minneapolis, MN, where he attended the University of Minnesota for a couple of years. He entered the U.S. Army on June 28, 1941, at Fort Snelling, MN and served in Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. During his service he received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. David received his honorable discharge at Camp San Luis Obispo, CA on October 9, 1945. Upon his discharge, he lived in Minneapolis and worked for Gamble-Skogmo. In 1978, David moved back to Thief River Falls, MN.
David held memberships to the Eagles, Elks, both in Minneapolis and Thief River Falls and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2793 of Thief River Falls.
Survivors include several friends.
Preceded in death by parents, sister, Olga O. Johnson and uncle, Nels Hendrickson.
