Eunice Larson, 92, died on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 7, 2007 at United Lutheran Church, Gatzke, MN with Reverend Katie Keller officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Middle River, MN.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer service on Sunday evening and also at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Eunice Mildred Severts was born August 11, 1914, at Spruce Valley Township, Marshall County, MN, the daughter of Henry and Annie (Fosterson) Severts. She was baptized at Faith Lutheran Church, Newfolden, MN and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Thief Lake, MN. She grew up and attended country school and Middle River School.
On November 4, 1944, Eunice was united in marriage to Selmer Larson. Following their marriage, the couple lived on a farm where they had a cattle and grain farm near Gatzke. In 1952, they moved into Middle River and operated the diner for 1 year, then moved back to the farm. In 2001, Eunice entered Valley Home, Thief River Falls and in November 2003, she moved into Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine, MN.
Eunice was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church for many years and in her later years became a member of United Lutheran in Gatzke, held office in ELCW and had membership with Eagles Auxiliary for many years. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, embroidery, reading, gardening her vegetables and rose beds. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survived by daughter, Sheila (Ronnie) Peterson, Middle River, MN; grandchildren, Vonda (Phillip) Johnson, Bemidji, MN, Marty (Deanna) Peterson, Plummer, MN and Lance (Crystal) Peterson, Bemidji, MN; great grandchildren, Baylee Johnson, Skyler, Savannah and Wyatt Peterson; sister; Mabel (John) Sorter, Thief River Falls, MN; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Severts and Eunice Novak, both of Thief River Falls, MN.
Preceded in death by husband, Selmer, August 22, 1980, parents, Henry and Annie Severts, sisters, Alma, Ida and Mary, brothers, Selmer, Herman and George.
