Hilma Margaret Ella Larson, 93 of Warren died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center of Warren.
Hilma was born February 9, 1919 in Warren, MN to Hjalmer Oscar and Fredericka Mildred Valerie (DeGrosieller) Johnson. She attended school in Boxville township for 1 year and in Vega township for 7 years. Hilma cleaned houses for people, worked at the bowling alley, worked at the turkey processing plant in Warren and was a cook for the Warren Hospital for eleven years and then at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren for 15 years before retiring. She married Fritz Swanson on November 10, 1936 in East Grand Forks, MN. He died on December 31, 1967, she than remarried Willie Larson on June 22, 1968 in Warren, MN. He died June 5, 1977. Hilma was a member of First Lutheran Church in Warren, MN. She enjoyed embroidery, reading, working on word puzzle books and also loved animals.
Left to mourn her passing are children, Donald Swanson of Zephyhillis, FL, Dennis Swanson of Colorado Springs, CO, Dale Swanson of Grand Forks, ND; step-daughter, Eileen Mathiason; grandchildren, seven; great grandchildren, 11; siblings, Maynard Johnson of San Bernardino, CA, Gloria Capucille of Escondido, CA, Viola Olness of McIntosh, MN and Levina Brosdahl of Warren, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; son, Duane Swanson; brothers, Hilmer and Melvin Johnson; and sisters, Violet, Lilly, Lillian and Charlotte.
