Funeral Rites for Mike Leiran Held Wednesday

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. T.C.L. Hanson in the Silver Creek Lutheran Church, northeast of Thief River Falls, on Wednesday at 2 P.M. for Mike Leiran, who passed away at his home on Thursday, March 6, following an illnass of almost two years. Burial was made in the Silver Creek cemetery.

Mr. Leiran was born at Waukon, Ia., on May 17, 1880, and lived there until 1904 when he came to Fertile. He moved to Gatzkey in 1907 and settled on a homestead near there. On July 3, 1908, he was united in marriage to Miss Helga Anderson, and they made their home near Gatzke until 1932 when they moved to their present home northeast of Thief River Falls.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Helga Leiran; three sons, Arthur, Edry and Cardiff at home; two daughters, Mrs. William Kaushagen (Doris) at home, and Mrs. Casper Hegrenes (Eunice) of Ada; five brothers, Ole and Leonard of Fertile, Melvin and Selmer of Thief River Falls, and Martin of Waukon, Ia. Also surviving are a half-brother, three half-sisters, and his step-mother of Waterville, Ia.
