Benjamin Loeslie, 88, East Grand Forks, MN, formerly of Radium, MN and Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Sunday morning, July 22, 2007 at Edgewood Vista in East Grand Forks.
Benjamin David Loeslie was born on Aug. 30, 1918, the son of Charles and Louise (Schrank) Loeslie. He was raised on the family homestead by Radium, MN and graduated from Warren High School in Warren, MN. On Jan. 9, 1944, he was united in marriage to Angela Boutain. They made their home in rural Radium where they farmed until their retirement. He worked for American Crystal in EGF for one winter. They moved to Grand Forks in 1990. Angela died on April 9, 2003. Benjamin moved to Edgewood Vista in 2005.
He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Radium and later the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.
Ben loved his grandchildren very much and enjoyed their visits. He enjoyed hard work; rolling up fences and clearing land were like recreation to him. He also enjoyed hunting with his family, especially Herbert.
Left to mourn his passing are his five children; Karen (Dale) Kifer of Starbuck, MN, Holly (Bill) Porter of Bloomington, MN, Randal (Joanne) Loeslie of Grand Forks, ND, Lane (Diane) Loeslie of Warren, MN and David (Naomi) Loeslie of Victoria, MN, thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two sisters; Mildred Berggren of Anoka, MN and Florence LaMonte of Grand Forks, ND and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant daughter, brother, Herbert and four sisters; Lucille, Barbara, Ethel and Annabelle.
