Jane V. Lundgren, age 89, formerly of Warren, Minn., passed away May 3, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Excelsior, Minn.
Jane Viola Lundgren was born October 10, 1925 in Stephen, Minn., the daughter of Harry and Gertrude (Stacy) Hess. She graduated from Warren High School in 1942 and then from teacher’s training at the North Star College in Warren. Jane then taught at the same one-room school that she had attended as a child.
On June 30, 1946 she married Erling Lundgren. They made their home in Warren where they owned and operated City Appliance. Jane loved to read and enjoyed being involved in her church and community. She was a past president of the Warren Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also very active in the fire department auxiliary and First Lutheran Church as well as being known for many years as the “Voice of Warren” on the radio. What was most important to her though was her family and her relationship with the Lord. Left to mourn her passing are her children, Susan (Donald) Anderson, Williams, Minn., Bruce (Candace) Lundgren, Chaska, Minn.; four grandchildren, Erik (Heather) Anderson, Timothy (Caroline) Lundgren, Travis (Nikki) Anderson, and Jessica (Ryan) Trebil; seven great grandchildren and three sisters-in-law, Fern Lundgren, Alice Mae Johnson and Carolyn Hess.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Erling; sister, Dena Wood; and three brothers, Harry Hess Jr., Jack Hess and Donald Hess.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 6, 2015, 11 a.m. at the Bertas Funeral Home, 200 West Third Street, Chaska, Minn., with visitation starting at 10 a.m. A visitation was held Friday, May 8, 2015, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 105 South Sixth Street, Warren, Minn. A graveside service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery also in Warren.
Funeral arrangements are with the Bertas Funeral Home of Chaska, Minn.
