Gaylord Wayne Magner, 86, of International Falls and formerly of Newfolden died January 11, 2008.
Gaylord was born the youngest of nine children to Harve and Bessie Magner in Oberlin, Kan. He moved to Minnesota as a young man in 1936. He spent four years in the Navy prior to meeting and falling in love with his lifelong companion, Lucille.
Gaylord and Lucille were married on Nov. 4, 1947, before a small gathering in his parents’ backyard. They moved their family to International Falls in 1950. Before they knew it, they had six children running about, making a happy home.
From those six children, came 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, with more on the way.
Gaylord worked hard to provide a good life for his family. He loved to take them on vacation to explore new places, share the abundance of produce from his well-tended garden and play a few spirited games of cards. Gaylord brought joy to many people through the years.
Gaylord is survived by his wife, Lucille; children Gaylyn, Daniel, Gregory, Barbara and Susan; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother Dale of Thief River Falls and sister, Lucille Skadsem of Newfolden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Anida.
