Funeral Rites Here Thurs. For Mrs. Alma Melin
Funeral services for Mrs. Peter (Alma) Melin, 86, life long resident of the Alvarado-Warren community who died at Warren Hospital Sunday after a short illness, will be held at First Lutheran Church in Warren tomorrow at 2 p.m.
Rev. Theodore Carlson, pastor of the church will officiate at the service at which Mrs. John Hendrickson will server as the organist and Mrs. Elmer Nordlund of Alvarado will be the soloist.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Stinar, Edgar Mattson, Oliver Mattson, Arthur Berglund, Albert Dahlman and Aaron Hillman. Active bearers will be Wallace Stinar, Harvey Johnson, Hilbert Larson, William Larson, Walter Nelson and Walter Hillman.
Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Melin was born on Oct. 9, 1889 in Sandsville Township, Polk County, a daughter of Ole and Martha Lundeen. She received her education in the rural schools of the community. She was married to Peter Melin in Crookston on Nov. 9, 1918 and he preceded her in death in 1954. After their marriage the couple made their home in Alvarado for a year before moving to Warren where Mr. Melin entered into partnership with the late Ole E. Anderson to form the Anderson-Melin Chevrolet and Buick garage.
Mrs. Melin was an active member of the Lutheran Church Women at First Lutheran Church and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She had been a resident of the [illegible]maus and Good Sameritan Center in Warren during the last few years.
Surviving her death are [illegible] Arnold Melin of Moraga, Calif., a sister, Miss Esther Lundeen, Milwaukee and a brother, Oliver Lundeen of Alvarado.
