Gloria Miska, 63, Euclid, MN passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at her home in rural Euclid.
Gloria Swenson was born on May 28, 1949 in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Lewis and Lorraine (Davidson) Swenson. She graduated from Newfolden High School in 1967. On September 2, 1972 she married DeWayne Miska in Thief River Falls. They made their home in Warren until 1990 when they moved to rural Euclid. She worked as a CNA at the Northwest Medical Center and the Warren Hospital. Gloria went to college when she was 39 years old to get her LPN nursing license. She worked as nurse at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren from 1990-2002 and was presently working at MSOCS MN State Operated Community Services at East Grand Forks, MN.
She was a former member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Warren and was presently a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls.
Gloria loved family events and spending time with family and friends. She loved cooking for everyone, especially Uffda Tacos. She enjoyed volunteering to help others in need. Gloria liked going to the Rollag Steam Threshers Reunion and volunteering for the handicap shuttles. She also attended Northern Tractor Pullers events in the Red River Valley.
She always had a smile on her face and her beautiful heart unconditionally loved everyone she knew. She left her “angel heart” stamp on everyone.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband, DeWayne; two daughters, Karen Miska (fiancé, Curtis Reitmeier) of Warren, MN and Judy Miska (fiancé, Charles Schmitt) of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Janice (Gene) Henrickson of Thief River Falls, MN; mother-in-law, Irene Miska of Menahga, MN; special aunt, Carol Comstock and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ryan and sister-in-law, Mardy Miska.
