Raymond Miska, 93, of Alexandria, MN, formerly of Warren, MN and Crookston, MN, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 12, 2010 at Bonnie’s Senior Haven in Alexandria.
Raymond was born on July 4, 1917 in Tabor, MN, the son of William and Mary (Adamek) Miska. He attended country school and graduated from Warren High School in 1936. Raymond married Lillian Olson on September 9, 1941. They farmed in Tabor Township until 1971 when they moved to Crookston where Raymond was the maintenance manager of the Diocese of Crookston until June 1980 when he retired. They spent many winters in Mesa, AZ. In 1993, they moved to Warren and in 2005, they moved to Alexandria.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Men’s Catholic Order of Foresters, Modern Woodmen and Eagles. Raymond served on the Tabor Township Board and the Warren Credit Union.
Raymond enjoyed wood carving.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Lillian; children, Marion (Warren) Hickman of Gold Canyon, AZ, Ronald (Linda) Miska of Plano, TX, Jane (Glenn) Sirek of Alexandria, MN, Diane (Dan) Yatskis of West Fargo, ND and Curtis (Rebecca) Miska of Richland, WA; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard Miska and Henry Miska and sister, Margaret Mischel.
