Funeral services for Manvel Moe, 73, of Agder township, Marshall county, were held Saturday at 10:30 a.m., at Our Saviour’s Lutheran church. Moe died Tuesday at Northwestern hospital.
Rev. Eugene Enderlein officiated at the services. Vocal selections were by Orville Trontvet, Everett Kompelien and Glen Espe with Randy Moe serving as organist. Interment will be in the Satesdal cemetery. The Green Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Loiell Dyrud, James Johnson, Rueben Wold, Lawrence Skomedal, Art Joppru and Joseph Ose.
Manvel Moe, a son of the late Soren and Anna Moe, was born July 22, 1904 in Agder township, Marshall county. He attended school in Agder township and was confirmed at the Satesdal Lutheran church.
On May 28, 1937, he was married to Adeline Nabben at the home of her parents. Following their marriage, the couple settled in Agder township where Moe was engaged in farming. In addition to farming, he worked throughout the area as a carpenter.
Moe was active in community affairs. He was a member of the former Satesdal Lutheran church and served on its board for many years. He was also a member of the Agder township board, had served on School District 112 board for several years and had been on the Red Lake Electric Cooperative Board for 32 years, serving part of that time as president He had also served on the State REA board.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Ronald Moe, Dalton; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Marilyn) Nygaard, Des Moines, Iowa, and Mrs. David (Lorna) Volkerding, Ada; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Oscar Moe, Duluth, and Arthur, Thief River Falls; and two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Bertha) Larson, Holt, and Mrs. Edwin (Mabel) Anderson, Thief River Falls.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
