Elsie Nicholls, 97, of Warren, MN, passed away on Sunday morning, January 13, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren.
Elsie Heller was born on December 19, 1910 in Ocoma, SD. As a young girl, she moved with her family to the Quill Lake area of Saskatchewan, Canada until moving with her family to a farm south of Warren. On October 30, 1929, she was united in marriage to Abner Nicholls in Warren. They made their home and farmed in the Warren area. Elsie was a homemaker and she worked as a cook at the Good Samaritan Center and Tillie’s Drive In. Elsie also sold Avon products for several years. Abner died on February 22, 1990.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Elsie enjoyed sewing, playing the piano and gardening.
Left to mourn her passing is a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Betty Nicholls, granddaughter, Audrey Halvorson, great-grandson, Josh Halvorson all of Thief River Falls, MN and many nieces and nephews from Warren, MN and surrounding area.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Judy, two great-grandchildren, Megan and Matthew Halvorson, two sisters, Louise Pease and Clara Vansickle and six brothers, Alfred, David, Raymond, Walter, Harvey and Lawrence.
