Stella Zblewski Novak, 91, of Warren, MN, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014, at Freedom Living Center, Oklee, MN, with her granddaughter, Melissa, by her side.
Stella Bernice McGlynn was born on July 30, 1923, in Fork Township, Stephen, MN, the fourth child of James and Lizzie (Cormican) McGlynn. She grew up in Stephen and moved to rural Warren in 1939.
Stella married Hamilton “Buddy” Zblewski on October 11, 1941. They had four children and farmed near Radium, MN, for many years. In 1973, they moved to Warren, and Buddy passed away in December of 1981. Stella was then married to Marcel Novak in 1986, and he passed away in 1991.
Stella worked at the Good Samaritan Home in Warren for 19 years. Prior to that, she worked at Arctic Cat for 12. One of her passions was writing the Radium News, which she did for over 50 years!
Stella’s greatest treasure were her family and friends, and she is survived by her children, Suzanne (Glenn) Edstrom of Lacey, WA, Gerald (Michele) Zblewski of Thief River Falls, MN, and Timothy Zblewski of Warren; six grandchildren, Kim (Chris) Schatz, Mike (Donnita) Zblewski, Melissa Zblewski, Ryan Edstrom, Lorie (Brad) Determan, and Karie (Will) Noftsinger; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lorlie Slaughter.
In addition to both her husbands, she is preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Lona Zblewski; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Lorraine McGlynn and Kenneth and Ollie McGlynn; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Harry T. Parr; brother-in-law, Les Slaughter; nieces and nephews, Karen, Debbie, Larry Ronald and Donald, Gordon and Harry Lee; and special godson, Ronnie Knutson.
She will be greatly missed and always loved!
